Our barristers regularly act on behalf of police officers principally instructed by the Police Federation of England and Wales, in criminal courts and disciplinary proceedings before Misconduct Panels.
We provide a discrete and effective service advising from an early stage in disciplinary proceedings often resulting in settlements being reached without the need for a misconduct hearing. Where such hearings take place we will provide a comprehensive service including the drafting of Regulation 22 responses, skeleton arguments and other representations to the Panel as well as expert representation at the hearing itself.
Members of Chambers have also represented police officers at a number of high profile inquests, such as the Jean Charles de Menezes inquest and Mark Duggan inquest, at which officers have been accused of unlawful killings both in and out of police custody.
