Youth Court sexual offences acquittal
Natalie Bird, instructed by Emma Grewock of Paul Robinson Solicitors, secured the acquittal of a 17-year-old boy with severe learning disabilities who had been accused of sexual assault of a child under 13 and inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity.
Applying the Advocate’s Gateway Toolkits at every evidential stage to ensure both child witnesses were appropriately and sensitively examined in Court, consulting with the professional intermediary throughout, Natalie succeeded in persuading the District Judge that the Court could not be sure of her young client’s guilt and he was acquitted of both charges.
