Stan Reiz QC successful in contested fitness to be tried hearing in care home murder case

Stan Reiz QC instructed by Frank and James O’Toole of John Fowlers Solicitors, represented JT who was charged with the murder of another resident at an Essex care home. JT was accused of throwing the male to the ground and kicking him 6 times causing his death.

After a contested fitness to stand trial argument involving the evidence of three psychiatrists, the court accepted the defence submissions that JT was unfit. The appropriate disposal in his case was adjudged to be a hospital order.
