Anand Beharrylal QC appears on the WESN Content Capital program Strictly Legal with Rondell Donawa to discuss the topic “The Privy Council – do we need it?”. The discussion focuses on the role and functions of the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council (‘Privy Council’) as Trinidad and Tobago’s apex court as per the Constitution, the establishment of the Caribbean Court of Justice (‘CCJ’) in 2005 as a proposed successor apex court and the considerations of Caribbean states which have chosen to retain the Privy Council over the CCJ.
