2BR prosecute in Luke D’Wit double murder trial

Tracy Ayling KC and Alex Stein, instructed by Andrew Young at the CPS Complex Case Unit, prosecuted the double murder trial at Chelmsford Crown Court before Mr Justice Lavender and a jury. D’Wit was unanimously convicted of killing Carol Baxter and Stephen Baxter by poisoning after a six week trial involving complex toxicology and computer analysis evidence.

On 22^nd March he was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 37 years. The case was aggravated by his controlling and manipulative treatment of the victims over many months.
