R v Troup

John Troup was one of only two Sun newspaper journalists acquitted following a 3-month trial (Operation Elvedon), at Kingston Crown Court. Troup was acquitted of conspiracy to commit misconduct in a public office following a successful submission of no case to answer made by William Clegg QC and Jacqueline Carey. At the conclusion of the case, the jury returned a not guilty verdict on the remaining substantive count against Troup.
