Wayne Couzens appeal against whole Life Order

Jim Sturman QC led Shauna Ritchie and Alex Davidson (instructed by Richard Egan and Sorcha Duncan of Tuckers solicitors) on behalf of Wayne Couzens. The former police officer’s appeal against sentence was heard before a special constitution of the Court of Appeal that considered the whole life sentence imposed in his case for the murder, rape and kidnapping of Sarah Everard, and 4 other cases involving other appellants where general principles related to the circumstances in which a whole life sentence was appropriate fell to be considered. Judgement was reserved.
