Quentin Hunt acting on behalf of Transport for London appeared before the High Court in respect of an appeal lodged by Thames Water. The appeal related to the ability of a statutory undertaker to delegate their responsibilities under permit legislation. The appeal was an issue of major public importance having ramifications over an industry worth 10s of millions of pounds per year. A distinguished bench headed by LJ Laws ruled in favour of TFL with full costs.
