The jigsaw murder

Peter Lodder QC, instructed by Paul Millan of Nobles, represented Sarah Bush who was acquitted of the murder and dismemberment of Jeffrey Howe in the “jigsaw murder” trial at St Albans Crown Court. Jeffrey Howe was stabbed to death in his own home. His body was dismembered and decapitated. Various parts were discovered in the countryside of Hertfordshire and Leicestershire – some parts are still missing. Sarah Bush and her then boyfriend Stephen Marshall lived in Howe’s flat. The prosecution alleged that together they killed and disposed of his body so that they could assume his identity and take over his home and other assets. Marshall was convicted of the murder and received a life sentence with a minimum term of 36 years.
