Richard Whittam QC appointed as a Deputy High Court Judge

After an open competition run by the Judicial Appointments Commission Richard Whittam QC has been appointed as a Deputy High Court Judge.

Having completed a successful term as First Senior Treasury Counsel [Crime] Richard returned to chambers to continue to practice in the fields of crime, financial crime, public inquiries, inquests and sports law.

He has also been appointed as the Independent Examiner for the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.

Richard is a Recorder of the Crown Court authorised to sit at the Central Criminal Court and a member of the RFU judiciary.
