James Harrison, instructed by Kemps Solicitors, acted for Gary Young, one of 3 defendants acquitted following a ruling by HHJ Stead that the conduct of undercover officers amounted to entrapment. The case was the first trial of 8 to be brought arising out of Operation Rhonda, an undercover operation in which police officers targeted scrap metal yards in the North West of England believed to be dealing in stolen railway and telecommunications cable.
