Members of Chambers regularly defend in cases before tribunals including the GMC, GOC, FA, RFU and BBBC and are instructed to present cases on behalf of the GDC and the AADB. Members of Chambers have acted both for and against the FSA in complex cases before the Markets Tribunal and Regulatory Decisions Committee. Individuals also appear as legal advisors to committees of the GMC, NMC, GSCC and the GCC.
Barristers in chambers are also instructed by the Police Federation in cases involving the prosecution and defence of police officers for disciplinary and criminal offences and appear in high profile inquests arising out of police shootings. Recent work has encompassed representing the MPS in relation to the “Plebgate” enquiry, officers facing charges concerning the improper use of police intelligence, the supply of drugs, perverting the course of justice, assault, dangerous driving in the course of duty and sexual misconduct.
