Olivia Rawlings, instructed by Claire Anderson of ABV Solicitors, secured the acquittal of her client charged with Affray following a 5-day trial at Holborn Nightingale Crown Court. Olivia’s client was a 21-year-old male who was accused of fighting others in the street in broad daylight and instructing his co-defendant to hide a machete nearby, but he maintained that he had acted in self-defence. The jury were hung in respect of the co-defendant who was on trial for the same charge of Affray and a further charge for possession of an offensive weapon (a machete) in a public place.
