Manslaughter in a residential care home

Nigel Lithman QC and Eleanor Sanderson appeared in Teeside Crown Court to represent the proprietor of a Care Home, charged with manslaughter arising out of the provision of the wrong medication to a resident. Medico-legal issues included cause of death, deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism whilst Health & Safety issues included National minimum standards established by CSCI, the Regulatory body. The case was stopped following Nigel Lithman’s admissibility argument.
