Katherine Higgs, instructed by David Nicholson of Dobsons Solicitors, represented an ex solicitor who pleaded guilty to fraud by abuse of position and was sentenced at the Central Criminal Court to a sentence of 2 years’ imprisonment, suspended for 2 years. The defendant had failed to forward divorce settlement payments totalling £132,000 to her client and had spent over £67,000 of the funds on personal and business expenses. She was subsequently struck off.
