Internet harassment victory

Michael Wolkind QC, along with his junior Jonas Milner, were instructed by Sarj Patel of Daryl Ingram solicitors to represent the Master Plumber Ian Puddick who ran a campaign to expose a City businessman who had a long affair with Puddick’s wife.

The defendant warned employers and colleagues about the man’s conduct and set up a number of websites detailing the events. He was arrested by Murder Squad and Terrorist officers who he claimed abused him and threatened him. He also sought to expose a conspiracy between the other man’s employers, the world’s largest re-insurance company, and an elite Security company. He was then charged with a series of Harassment offences. The case involved fundamental issues of Freedom of Speech and after a very high-profile 3 day trial he was acquitted by the District Judge and was awarded costs.
