International Corruption Trial

Tim Kendal, instructed by Ian Ryan of HKFSI LLP, represented JM who had pleaded guilty to an offence of corruption in the international oil industry. The allegations centred on contracts corruptly entered into in the early 2000s which generated approximately £10 million of revenue. The client received a suspended sentence of imprisonment and, despite a prosecution application for a confiscation order in excess of £750,000, the court ordered confiscation in the sum of £5,700 only with no order for costs.
