Doctor defrauded company of £1.1 million in breach of trust

Stan Reiz QC, instructed by Akhtar Ahmed and Hanisha Godhania of ABV Solicitors, represented a practising doctor and director of a healthcare company owned by 16 GP surgeries in Portsmouth. He admitted committing the offence of fraud by abuse of position by transferring in excess of £1.1 million of company money into his own bank accounts and losing it on online gambling sites. The doctor was sentenced to 3 years 4 months imprisonment with the court making no order for confiscation or directors disqualification.
