Ashraf Khan appointed to advise Police Misconduct Panels 

Chambers is delighted to announce that Ashraf Khan has been appointed by the Police and Crime Commissioner to act as a Legally Qualified Person (LQP) and advise Police Misconduct Panels sitting across the West Midlands, Staffordshire, Warwickshire and West Mercia.

The position of the LQP was brought into being on 28 April 2024 through the Police (Conduct Amendment) Regulations 2024. Ashraf will play a critical role in advising the panel conducting misconduct hearings in respect of legal and/or procedural issues relating to misconduct proceedings conducted in accordance with the 2024 Regulations 2024. 

Ashraf will commence his appointment with immediate effect. He will undertake this role alongside his practice in Chambers and will continue to accept instructions throughout all his practice areas.
