Money Laundering acquittal after submission of no case to answer. Judge's terminating ruling upheld by the Court of Appeal
R v Dawood and others, EWCA Crim 1762. Jim Sturman QC and Stephen Vullo acted for the defendant who was acquitted at the Judge's direction on a charge of conspiracy to launder the proceeds of crime. The prosecution appealed the ruling but the Court of Appeal upheld the Judge's decision and the case is now reported at the reference above.
