Whilst studying for the Bar Vocational Course Tim was a member of the winning team of the 2008 National Mock Trial competition.

Before joining 2 Bedford Row, Tim enjoyed a successful City career, acquiring a sound knowledge of financial markets and products. He travelled widely as a senior bond broker and equity warrant broker at Tradition UK Limited and Williams de Broe respectively, then became Head of Marketing at Cantor Index Limited and Head of Sales and Client Development at City Index Limited.
Tim has a broadly-based criminal practice, chiefly defending. He is regularly instructed in matters including fraud (including boiler room frauds) and other finance-related offences (including insider dealing), dishonesty offences, offences against the person, affray and other public order offences, offences relating to offensive weapons, criminal damage, drugs, driving matters, breach of ASBOs and probation service prosecutions.
He is currently part of the defence team in R v Asil Nadir.
In the field of professional discipline, he has conducted General Optical Council cases on behalf of the Association of Ophthalmologists and is regularly instructed by the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
