Profile

An experienced criminal practitioner specialising in fraud and serious crime.  She has a mixed practice of Prosecution and Defence work.  Specialism in cases involving vulnerable and juvenile defendants, mental health issues and forensic evidence.

Prosecution Work – Instructed by the Crown Prosecution Service, the Health & Safety Executive, the Inland Revenue and Customs and Excise. Counsel is on the Attorney General's A list of Prosecution Advocates and Grade 3 list of CPS Prosecutors

Represents Health Authorities on restricted cases before the Mental Health Review Tribunal.

Part-time Judge for the Mental Health Review Tribunal (since 2004).

Fee paid Ombudsman for the Financial Ombudsman Service.

Chair/Member of the disciplinary panel for the Taxation Disciplinary Board.

Legal Advisor to the General Social Care Council.

Appointed member of the Bar Standards Board Professional Conduct Committee.  

Recommended in 2009 Legal 500 as Junior talent who "gives clear and understandable advice in complex matters" 

Voluntary Work
Presently: Trustee for the charity Ataxia UK. (Ataxia is a rare neurological disorder.) Previously trained and worked as a volunteer for: Sheffield Alcohol Advisory Service, Crisis Line, London Lighthouse and Norwood Ravenswood Children's charity.
