William Clegg QC represented Barry George in the Court of Appeal when his conviction for the murder of Jill Dando was quashed. Jill Dando was shot on the 26th April 1999 as she was about to enter her home at 29, Gowan Avenue in Fulham. Barry George was arrested over a year after the shooting on the 25th May 2000 and was convicted at the Central Criminal Court on the 2nd July 2001. The quashing of his conviction followed a reference to the Court of Appeal from the Criminal Cases Review Commission.
